GROC Singletrack Academy

GROC Singletrack Academy is an educational summer program for young riders. Over the course of eight weeks, the comprehensive program teaches participants to become better riders, but also seeks to instill in young riders positive attitudes about themselves, their community, and the environment. We also go on lots of fun group rides!

Through presentations, clinics, and projects, GROC SA covers:

Beginner through advanced bike handling skills
Responsible riding technique and trail etiquette
Intro to National Mountain Bike Patrol
Awareness of advocacy and stewardship issues
Trail maintenance projects
Healthy living and nutrition (both on and off bike)
Introduction to racing
Essential bike repair/maintenance
Preparedness
Basic trailside First Aid

GROC SA is a community program generously supported by sponsors and hosted by volunteers. Our efforts help educate and inspire the next generation of trail riders and stewards. GROC Singletrack Academy - SUMMER 2013

Entering our FIFTH season, GROC will once again be hosting a summer Singletrack Academy program for young trails riders! Applicants should have some off-road riding experience, a helmet, a fully-functional mountain bike, and a positive attitude for learning and having fun!

Who: For young riders (boys and girls), ages 9 to 15
When: Monday evenings, June 24th - August 12th. 5:30 to 8:30pm
Where: Dryer Road Park
Price: $90 (includes a GROC SA jersey!)
