GROC ROCKS!!
On a crisp, sunny Saturday, April 11th, 42 of us met at Creekside Lodge in Ellison Park, stoked up on coffee, donuts and bagels, and then fanned out in groups to all areas of the park. After working all morning collecting a small mountain of trash, they met back at the lodge for a weenie roast. We were pleased to see attendees from the first to the seventh decades in age. A Channel 13 TV reporter interviewed and filmed us; it made the 6 p.m. news and will be posted on the web site early this week. Our goal is to demonstrate what GROC’s meaning of stewardship is, and to show how we contribute as partners in our goals for off-road cycling as part of the future for the Monroe County Parks system.
We were honored to have Larry Staub, Parks Director, Dave Rinaldo, Assistant Parks Director and Dan Quatro, County Legislator, in attendance.
