Happy New Year
We had a great 2011 season with lots of great riding and the opening of new legal single track. Tryon Park and West Bay Park have been filled with people hiking, running, biking and just generally enjoying the new trails. It’s just so exciting to have people stop to thank the volunteers for what a great thing we have done, and how much they enjoy the trails. The county has received letters from residents saying how much they like the new trails.
What is Community Saying?
All of the Volunteer time and energy generates feedback like this.
I wanted to write to say how much my wife and I have been enjoying the improvements made at Irondequoit Bay Park West over the last year. We have lived in the area for several years and have used the park previous to the improvements. The new, easily navigable, defined trails have made our hikes much more enjoyable and adventurous. Because of the new trails, we ventured to the far west side of the park in a recent 2 hour hike. It was one of the most enjoyable hikes we had locally all year. It is nice to see other hikers and bike riders out on the trail when we our out, everyone seems to be really enjoying the beautiful park.
Event
So to thank all of the volunteers and kick off the New Year, we are having a Volunteer / Members meeting on February 9th at the Pavilion Lodge at Ellison Park.
There will be food, drink, and a few awards to recognize some of the volunteers and supporters who have gone above and beyond in 2011.
So please join us to hang out and talk about all the things we would like to see for the 2012 season.
Please RSVP on GROC Trail Crew so we can estimate food and drink.
