GROC mourns the tragic and sudden loss of Elliott Eklund from a snowboarding accident that ocurred at Bristol Mountain on Wednesday evening, February 16th. Elliott was admired and loved by those who got to know him as a great husband, father and friend. Many of us had the honor of knowing him through riding and we enjoyed also his generous and cheerful nature as he volunteered for GROC on trails and other activities. He loved spending time with his sons, Ansel, Matthias, Rigel, his daughter, Maren, and his wife, Marla.
The 2010 Fat Tire Festival will be dedicated to Elliott in memory of all the effort and support that he and his family have given to the mountain biking community, and their countless hours of volunteer work at Dryer Road Park and OCP.
