| OVERVIEW
A relevant and meaningful program for kids with a love of mountain biking. It’s for those with off-road riding experience, basic bike handling skills, and passion for the sport. The program will focus on improving riding skills, but also extend to many other topics related to the sport we know and love.
We will announce dates for next season classes in the spring.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
- Teach intermediate to advanced bike handling skills.
- Encourage responsible riding technique and trail etiquette.
- Promote an awareness of health, nutrition (both on and off bike), and physical fitness.
- Introduction to racing.
- Basic bike repair/maintenance instruction.
- Intro to National Mountain Bike Patrol and Ambassador program.
- Increase awareness of advocacy issues among young riders.
- Teach trail maintenance and encourage young riders to volunteer more.
- Instill a sense of community in young riders and have them act as junior stewards/ambassadors.
TARGET AUDIENCE
- Ages 12 to 17.
- Applicants should have some off-road riding experience and good bike handling abilities.
- Kids that REALLY love mountain biking, and are interested in its many dimensions.
COURSE SCHEDULE
- When: June 21st thru August 9th. Monday evenings, 5:30 to 8:30pm
- Where: Dryer Road will be home base but we will be looking to explore other locations.
